Shy Bladder

When a donor cannot initially provide enough urine 45ml for testing, our trained collector follows the appropriate shy bladder procedure. The donor remains at the collection site and is given additional time to provide a sufficient specimen. For DOT testing, donors may be offered up to 40 ounces of fluid over a period of up to three hours. All attempts, fluids, and collection times are carefully documented.
